Kinja'd!!!

Finally got the new rims in and winter tires (Firestone Winterforce) put on this morning, just as the first snow storm hits central massachusetts.

Yes, I know the center caps are missing, they're on back order or shipping from the factory or something so I'll have to go back for those in a week or so. But hey, shiny new nuts! I love shiny new nuts! Especially free ones.

Gotta say, I really love the look of the wheels. These are the same style as my summer wheels, just in glass black and damn if they don't look purposeful.

As a bonus, when I came back to the tire shop, this is how I found the XJ parked:

When I mentioned to the tech that I love how they parked it, he just smiled and said "well it's a Jeep isn't it?" :-)

So now have some more Black Steel, a great Public Enemy song (look it up) but an even more amazing re-imagining/cover of it by Tricky:

I've been using Winterforce's for years. Always had good luck. Also, they seem pretty tough which given the roads in New England, is a very good thing.

Haha, that actually *IS* snow, it just doesn't photograph well close up. Here's what my backyard looks like right now:

Also: I love working from home. That's the view from my kitchen table and I'll take that over a cube/desk any day :-)

Haha I know. The bumper is a little dented but I kind of think it looks a little badass like that. Although, it always makes me think of this meme:

I took my girlfriend at the time to the monster truck show last Valentine's Day. Such a more fun V Day than normal :-)

Not a bad looking XJ. I've got a 95 for my winter beater, 5 speed. Just put some 31x10.5 Goodyear Duratracs on it. They are proving quite nice in the snow we got last week.

Thanks! Mine's a '96 with the 5 speed as well.

I was debating going with some mud/snow more off road tires but I went with straight up winter tires. Honestly, I almost never go off road but I do commute in it and need to get up some gnarly hills.

What size are those? They look great... looking for the same size for my XJ.

235/70/15 on 15" wheels. XJ's are supposed to have a crazy 5.5" wheel fitment. I think these are like 4-4.5" (biggest I could find) so they stick out about 1" further than stock wheels which really helps fill out the wheel well IMO.

That'd why I went with the duratracs. They are a snow offroad tire, should be fun.
